Fitting a 'Sleepy Eyes' Kit

Instructions
Once you've made your kit, or bought one, follow these guidelines to fit it.

Please note some alterations maybe required and as such Club 323F takes no responsibility whatsoever for any errors encountered, or for any future problems with your automobile.

1. ­Select a place on your dash where you want to mount the switch

2. ­On the bulkhead, at the bottom behind the airbox on the passenger side (Right Hand Drive versions only), you will find a rubber gromet (live wire attaches to battery). Thread the wire through to the engine bay, leaving the switch and some 'slack' inside the car. See the following image that shows where the wire feeds through the bulkhead. You can then feed it along behind the battery to keep it out of the way of moving parts

3. ­Run the wire through to the main fuse box, keeping the wire away from moving or heated parts. Tidy it up and attach it to the car out of sight.

4. ­Open the fuse box and you will find a fuse marked with either headlights or retro(rtr)
To ensure you have removed the correct fuse, turn the headlights on, they should turn on but not 'pop up'.

The fuse may look a different shape, they do vary and can look like a cube this is still the correct fuse to take out.

5. ­The fuse removed will be kept for later, and the two male ends on the kit cables now come into play.
Find the live side of the fuse box (best done with a tester).
Insert the two male connectors into the fuse box, the brown to the live side, and the blue wire into the other side.

6. ­Now insert the fuse you removed into the two female connectors.
At this point you should insulate and secure the bare fuse with tape

7. ­ Close the lid of the fuse box and tidy the wiring

8. ­Your lights should now operate as normal. If not, dont worry. Check all the connections or move the switch into it's other positions until it works. Below is a wiring diagram which may help you during the installation.

9. ­The switch is a three way toggle switch, and if you try it, you will lock it in the up position and not the down. For your lights to work as normal, the switch needs to be in the UP position. To activate sleepy eye, place the switch to the middle, turn your lights on, you should find nothing happens. Now apply pressure to the downward toggle until lights raise to the preferred height and release.
